ABOUT THE ARTIST

The lovely and funny Irenka Bajusz Hassoun was born in Hungary in August of 1945. She studied at both McGill and Concordia University and obtained her Bachelor of Arts as well as her Degree in Education. After several years of teaching art to elementary students, her talent blossomed, inspiring her to pursue her passion for creativity.

In the summer of 2000 Irenka undertook an art study program in France at Monet's garden in Giverny. It was there that she learned how to blend vibrant and vivid colors to create impressionist landscapes and scenery. Upon returning to Montreal, Irenka joined the enigmatic Ross Schorer, an accomplished artist who has been teaching for 30 years.

Greatly inspired by her mother's artistic direction, Irenka has been able to produce countless works of art, which have in their turn inspired many people in her milieu. She also gets inspiration from traveling. She returns with a batch of photos, and then creates.

Like her life, Irenka's paintings are exuberant in color. Her unique talent to combine brush work with the palette knife is pleasantly effective. Her paintings have been shown in several locations in the Montreal area.

Irenka continues to paint original creative works that glow with unique and enticing colors that create a whole new era of inspiration.
